alupak is committed to preserving nature and a world worth living in. Consequently, alupak also recycles all raw materials and production scrap 100%, while utilising the waste heat from production. As a company with intensive electricity use, we utilise initiatives to continually explore saving options, for instance through automatic light switching, LED lamps or compressed air consumption optimisation, and agree energy targets with initiatives throughout Switzerland.
We also support aluminium as a modern packaging material for ecological reasons – owing to its truly special characteristics for protecting products: Aluminium is easy to shape, stable, impervious to light and gas, heat resistant, hygienic and tasteless. Aluminium is kind to resources when it helps to save weight and preserve valuable goods against damage and spoilage. Packaging made from aluminium therefore plays a role in effectively protecting the food, medicines and other sensitive goods produced with much higher energy and water input. This depends on the relevant application conditions and is confirmed by independent environmental life cycle analyses.
Aluminium can be recycled indefinitely without loss of quality, which reduces energy consumption by 95% compared to the production of primary aluminium. A large number of different environmental measures undertaken by packaging manufacturers, trade associations, NGOs and national initiatives are generating positive feedback and increasing recycling rates.
